Meet Kezia Gyampo, an eleven year old at the St. Bennito Menni Rehabilitation Center, Dompoase, Ashanti Region.
Kezia has not been able to speak since childhood and has been at the Rehabilitation Center for the mentally challenged with drooling of saliva. She however hears and responds to commands. Doctors say she is suffering from a medical condition known as Esophageal Atresia.
She would need an amount of GH 1500 for scan at the moment and further surgery at the Komfo Anokye Hospital, Kumasi. Kindly support Kezia with any amount to help her speak for the first time in her life.
God bless you for your love and generosity.
The National Catholic Health Service (NCHS) is a private not for profit healthcare provider, owned by the Catholic Church in Ghana.
The majority of the institutional health facilities (i.e. hospitals and clinics, training institutions) of the NCHS began in the early 1950’s at a time when there was an urgent need to provide such facilities for the rural folk who had virtually no access to modern orthodox health facilities and often requested for them. Expatriate missionary professional staff supported by local auxiliary workers then primarily manned these institutions and Service.
In the 1960’s services were expanded by mobile clinics and Natural Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Diocesan Pharmacies and Rehabilitative Service activities were introduced. Maternal and Child Health Service were also intensified and further improved.
